Mughalia Foods supplies rice, salt and spices to retailers, distributors, caterers and exporters from Lahore. The rice is milled at our own mill in Mandi Faizabad.
From production charges to our own mill
For years we bought paddy at harvest and had it milled for us at other rice mills on production charges. That taught us the trade from the buying side: which growers to trust, what a good lot of paddy looks like, and how much is lost when someone else controls the milling.
We have now taken a rice mill on rent at Mandi Faizabad, Lahore, and mill our own paddy. Drying, ageing, husking, polishing, grading and packing all happen under our supervision, which means consistent grades, honest weights and prices that do not carry a middleman's margin.
What we supply
Rice — aged basmati in extra-long and long grades, golden and white sella for restaurants and caterers, and broken grades for kheer and everyday cooking, in 1 kg to 50 kg packs.
Salt — Himalayan pink salt from the Khewra range in fine and coarse grinds, and refined iodised white salt, from 800 g retail packs to 50 kg bags.
Spices — red chilli, turmeric, coriander and a house garam masala, ground in small batches, from 50 g jars to 25 kg bulk.
